Packaging sectors

Cartons built to stand out

Different sectors require different things from a carton. These are the three we most commonly produce for, each with its own stock, finishing and compliance requirements, along with the pack formats typically used in each sector.

Food and drink

At Carton-Pro we specialise in food and drink packaging. In this competitive industry it is important to have distinctive packaging and presentation for maximum on-shelf impact.

Whether you want standard stock items or bespoke designs, our wide range of boxes, cups, sleeves, containers, cartons and pouches ensure professional, consistent and attractive food and drink packaging that delivers a stand out look for all food and drink customers.

To our knowledge we are the only UK manufacturer of water based paper cups, produced in 12oz and 16oz, single and double wall. More on the cups.

How we work

The process

01

Design consultation

We become involved even before your product launch, advising on pack and carton design. Our on-site design facilities allow us to design and manufacture product pack samples so that you can see exactly how your finished printed packaging will look.

We are committed to making sure that you get a product pack that truly suits your needs, no matter how difficult the design process. Our day to day business is manufacturing designs that are difficult to create and produce.

02

Plain samples for testing

Various plain carton samples are produced for testing, so the pack can be filled, dropped, stacked and shipped before a single colour goes on it.

03

Artwork, repro and printed samples

With full print and repro facilities on site we create artwork and, if needed, manufacture small runs of fully finished printed samples. Plain samples for testing first, then fully finished samples in up to seven colours.

04

Litho production run

A seven colour B1 press with a coater, running to 16,000 sheets an hour on a maximum sheet of 730 x 1040mm, held to the specification signed off at sample stage. No minimum or maximum run length.

05

Finishing and delivery

Embossing, full die cutting, window patching, gluing, soft touch, foil blocking and braille. Typically two weeks from artwork to delivery, on our own transport, anywhere in the United Kingdom, Ireland or Europe.

Paper cups

The only UK maker of water based cups

Almost every disposable cup in Britain is lined with polyethylene, which is why a used one cannot go in with the paper recycling. Ours are lined with a water based coating instead.

12oz and 16oz, single and double wall, printed in up to seven colours on the same press as our cartons.

Tight deadlines, and only the highest quality.

If your job sits outside these numbers, tell us anyway. A good part of our work starts as something a customer was told could not be done.
